A +/- 1 mm tolerance shall be applicable to the required dimensions for the diameters (top and bottom) and lengths of the stoppers.
Shall have each stopper supplied with its stopper number size identified in the form of a raised number on the top side.
Shall have the bottom side of each perforation (in the stopper) supplied with an inserted protruding nodule (plug) that can be removed by twisting off with finger pressure. The removal of each nodule (plug) shall result in an obstructed full length opening that permits the full insertion of laboratory glass tubing.
Shall be supplied in unit packages (see “Unit” requirements) that include the following legibly printed legend “CAUTION-Stoppers are rubber based and may become tacky when used with organic solvents”.
Workmanship. The bottle stoppers shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). For stopper numbers 3 and 4, one package containing fifty bottle stoppers, as specified, constitutes one unit. For stopper number 5, one package containing forty bottle stoppers, as specified, constitutes one unit. For stopper number 6, one package containing thirty bottle stoppers, as specified, constitutes one unit. For stopper numbers 7 and 8, one package containing twenty bottle stoppers, as specified, constitutes one unit. For stopper number 9, one package containing fifteen bottle stoppers, as specified, constitutes one unit. For stopper number 10, one package containing ten bottle stoppers, as specified, constitutes one unit.
