As a minimum, the incremental markings from 5.0 to 45 ml shall be numbered. There shall be a suitable that the numbering represents “milliliter” or “ml” volumetric capacities. The volumetric accuracies of the graduation markings shall be as indicated in table I.

The top of the tube shall be threaded to accommodate the screw cap closure. The screw cap should be capable of being hand-tightened to the tube to form a watertight (leakproof) fir with the tube. The maximum allowable outside dimensions of the screw cap shall be 36 diameter X 12 depth (mm), to preclude interference with proper closure of a dome cap with a centrifuge tube shield.
Workmanship. The tube and screw cap closure shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing 500 tubes with caps, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
