The design and dimensions of the head shall be such that the following relative centrifugal forces (RCF) can be reached when loaded with the following tube sizes:

The centrifuge shall include an automatic mode of operation, whereby a desired centrifuging time can be preset, within a range that includes0 to 99 minutes, and during centrifuging the countdown time to zero shall be indicated on the control panel. In addition, the electrical power to the motor shall be automatically shut off when the countdown reaches “0”.
The centrifuge shall include a manual mode of operation, whereby during centrifuging the elapsed time, within a range that includes 0 to 99 minutes, shall be indicated on the control panel. Regardless of the elapsed time, the centrifuge shall continue to operate until manually stopped.
The housing and cover shall have a baked-on enamel finish. A power on/off switch shall be attached to a cutout in the housing. The bottom of the base shall be supplied with rubber or neoprene feet. The cover shall be supplied with a safety device that will not allow the cover to be opened while the centrifuge is in operation.
The control panel shall include the following controls: an automatic/manual mode selection switch, start and stop switches (or push buttons) for operating the centrifuge, timer adjustment automatic mode countdown, variable speed control. The control panel shall include the following visual displays: centrifuge speed, elapsed time during manual mode, and countdown time during automatic mode.
The power line cord shall be attached to a cutout in the housing and the other end shall terminate with a 3-prong male plug.
Workmanship. The centrifuge shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One centrifuge, as specified, constitutes one unit.
