The valve actuating housing shall contain the valve actuating mechanism, and shall be securely joined to the top base housing. A diaphragm fitted between the two housing shall permit the opening and closing of the spring valve mechanism by the valve actuating mechanism, and shall prevent leakage of gas from the base housing to the atmosphere.
The “ON-OFF” platform shall be flat, mounted on top of the valve actuating housing, and attached to the valve actuating mechanism. Depression and release of the platform shall cause the valve actuating mechanism to open and close the spring valve mechanism.
The detachable burner shall contain the main gas passage, the pilot gas passage, pilot needle valve, and air intake adjustment. The burner shall be attached to the base housing in such a manner that the main gas passage shall be opposite the exterior nozzle orifice of the main flame needle valve, and shall be held securely to the base housing by means of a thumbscrew.
The draft guard, with mounting bracket, shall be attached to the burner and shall be rotatable and rotatable upon a stud provided on the burner, and shall have a loop heat conductor to control the consistency of the wax. The loop heat conductor shall be independently rotatable to permit adjustment for the desired degree of heat transmitted to the waxing cup.
The waxing cup shall be 2-1/2 inch diameter and ˝ inch depth. The cup shall be mountable and rotatable upon a stud provided on the burner, and shall have a loop heat conductor to control the consistency of the wax. The loop heat conductor shall be independently rotatable to permit adjustment for the desired degree of heat transmitted to the waxing cup.
Instruction for maintenance and use shall be furnished with each Bunsen burner.
Workmanship. The Bunsen burner shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One Bunsen burner, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provision.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection, examination, and test requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved’ by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections, examinations, or tests set forth in this description where such inspections, examinations, and tests are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
