COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CYLINDER, GRADUATED, LABORATORY, POLYPROPYLENE
This commercial item description shall be used in preference to Military Specification MIL-C-36229.
This commercial item description covers requirements for polypropylene graduated cylinders, suitable for laboratory purposes.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be cylindrical, graduated cylinders with supporting base, having the following capacities; 10 millimeter (ml), 25 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 1000 ml, and 2000 ml.
Shall be fabricated of a good quality propylene material, and provided with a pour-out spout.
The base shall be octagonal and constructed in such a manner that the empty cylinder is prevented from tipping over when placed at an angle of 15o from the perpendicular.
Shall be permanently and legibly calibrated in accordance with NBS Circular 602, Testing of Glass Volumetric Apparatus.
Main graduations shall be suitably inscribed in Arabic numerals. The graduation ranges and intervals shall be as shown in table I.
