COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SHAKING MACHINE, LABORATORY, SLIDE, 115 VOLT, AC-DC
This commercial item description shall be used in preference to Military Specifications MIL-S-3678 and MIL-S-003678A (DSA-DM)
This commercial item description covers a laboratory shaking machine for simulating hand shaking of micro slides, antigen flakes and other equipment for flocculation test in connection with cardiolipin syphilis tests.
Salient characteristics:
The shaking machine shall consist of a suitably finished steel base, a housing, a continuous duty. 115 Volt, AC-DC, universal motor with a worm gear and a rubber covered steel or aluminum floating platform approximately 13 inches square.
The shaking machine shall have overall dimensions of 13 inches square by 7-1/2 inches high and shall provide variable speeds from a low of 52 ± 31 RPM to a nominal high of 180 RPM. An automatic cutoff timing device shall be provided with a dial graduated to 0 t0 28 minutes in ½ minute subdivisions. At least every 5 minutes interval shall be numbered. The shaking machine shall be provided with a three-wire electric power cord with a three-prong male connector, meeting the requirements of ANS1 C73.11.
Workmanship. Workmanship shall be first class throughout. The shaking machine shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Packaging and packing quantities. Unit. Each (EA). Each shaking machine, as specified, constitutes one unit. Shipping container shall contain one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by their subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act and regulations promulgated thereunder, and the requirements of all otter applicable Federal and State statutes and regulations.
Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practical.
Preservation, packaging, packing. Unless otherwise specified, preservation, packaging, and packing shall be to a degree of protection to preclude damage to containers and/or contents thereof under normal shipping conditions, handling, etc., involving shipment from receiving activity, and shall conform to applicable carrier’s rules and regulations.
