COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to the type II pipets of Military Specification MIL-P-0036599 (DSA-DM) which is cancelled.
This commercial item description covers disposable sterile serological pipets with plugged ends, for used in laboratory procedures.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be disposable plastic serological pipets that are calibrated “to deliver” (TD) rated capacity by blowing out the last drop.
Shall be plugged at the proximal end with natural or synthetic fibrous material.
Shall be supplied in a sterile condition.
Shall have the following rated capacities and graduation markings (millimeters):

Shall be designed to deliver the rated capacity with a volumetric accuracy of ± 3%.
Shall conform to the requirements of ASTM Designation E934.
Shall be tested for volumetric accuracy to meet the requirements of the College of American Pathologists (see Quality Assurance Provisions).
