STIRRING BAR SET, (Magnetic)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Military Specification MIL-S-37438.
This commercial item description covers one type of magnetic stirring bar set for use in laboratory procedures.
Salient characteristics:
Stirring bars shall be fabricated of a permanent magnetic metal evenly coated polytetrafluoroethylene having the overall dimensions as listed in Table I.

Stirring bars shall be round or octagonal. Octagonal bar diameter dimensions shall be considered to the between parallel planes. Stirring bars shall be supplied with removable snap rings which are centered on the longitudinal axis. As an alternate, integral rings may be supplied centered on the longitudinal axis.
