COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
FUNNEL, COMMON, LABORATORY (Ribbed, Polypropylene)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Federal Specification NNN-F-1652.
This commercial item description covers one type of ribbed polypropylene laboratory funnel.
Salient characteristics:
Funnels shall be fabricated from polypropylene capable of withstanding autoclaving and steam pressure. The surfaces shall be uniform and free of mold marks. The body shall be uniformally round and the stem shall be perpendicular to the center of the body. Funnel sizes shall be in accordance with Table I. Shall have a 60O body taper.

The interior shall be ribbed to facilitate filtration and the exterior shall be ribbed to permit air passage. Exterior ribbing shall be the greatest where the stem and body are joined and the least where the ribbing tapers off at the top of the body and the bottom of the stem. The stem tip shall have a taper to prevent liquid build up. Each item shall have the manufacturer’s name or registered trademark.
Workmanship. The funnels shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One funnel of the size specified, constitutes one unit.
