COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
FUNNEL, COMMON, LABORATORY (SMOOTH)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification DD-F-806b.
This commercial item description covers the requirements for smooth glass funnels suitable for use in laboratory procedures.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be a common laboratory funnel fabricated of borosilicate glass.
Shall be fabricated in accordance with ASTM Standard E1095 (Standard Specification for Common Laboratory Glass Funnels) as applicable to Type I, Class B (see Ordering data).
Workmanship. The funnel shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One funnel, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Reference Standard. Where standard is referenced herein, the use of that standard in effect on the date of solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
