PLATE, COUNTING, BACTERIOLOGICAL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for Military Specification MIL-C-37760 which will be cancelled.
This commercial item description covers Wolffhuegel type counting plate suitable for counting bacterial colonies.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be a Wolffhuegel type counting plate suitable for use with a bacterial counting apparatus.
The plate shall be fabricated of glass, 3.2 millimeters (mm) thick, and shall be square with sides 114 mm in length. The plate shall have a lined area with 100 mm sides parallel to the sides of the plate. The lined area shall contain 100 squares with 10 mm sides. Each of the diagonal squares shall be subdivided into nine equal squares. The center of the lined area shall not be more than 1 mm from the center of the plate. The lines shall be etched or silkscreened and have a nominal width of 0.25 mm.
Workmanship. The plate shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One plate counting, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
