The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a bench mounted gravity convection oven with a +40 to +200 degrees centigrade (C) operating temperature range.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be a single chamber type gravity convection oven for preheating, drying, sterilizing, baking, and aging procedures.
Shall have an operating temperature range that includes +40 to +200 degrees (C).
Shall have a nominal chamber dimensions of 16 1/2W X 11 1/2 D X 16H (inches). Shall have nominal overall dimensions of 18W X 14D X 23H (inches).
Shall be suitable for bench mounting.
Shall be suitable for operation from 120 volts, 50/60 Hz, AC supply lines. Shall be rated for a power consumption of 1600 watts or VA.
Shall consist of a rectangular steel cabinet with a base. The cabinet shall enclose a thermostat controlled electric heating unit that shall be located below the chamber. The base shall include suitably mounted controls that include.
a. An on-off switch for the electric power.
b. A temperature setting control dial with reference graduations.
c. A red color neon lamp to indicate when on-off switch is in the “on” position.
d. An amber color neon lamp to indicate when the thermostat is activated.
