COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CYLINDER, GRADUATED, LABORATORY
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers a graduated cylinder for use with distillation equipment.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be a 100 millimeter (ml) cylinder with 1.0 ml increments, and every tenth increment numbered.
Shall be calibrated “to contain”.
Shall be fabricated from borosilicate glass conforming to Type I, Class A of ASTM E-438 (Standard Specification for Glasses in Laboratory Apparatus).
Shall be in conformance with the requirements of ANSI/ASTM E 133 (Standard Specification for Distillation Equipment) for “B” designated graduated cylinders.
Shall be supplied with a bumper guard.
Workmanship. The graduated cylinder shall be free from significant visual defects which detract from its appearance or defects impairing serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One cylinder, as specified constitutes one unit.
