CENTRIFUGE, LABORATORY
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This Commercial Item Description covers one type of table model centrifuge, that is capable of accommodating 1/2 to milliliter (ml) capacity tubes, and suitable for general laboratory use in performing a wide variety of laboratory testing.
Salient characteristics:
Shall be a table model centrifuge, that is operable from 115 volt, 50/60 HZ, AC supply lines and has a maximum power rating of 450 watts.
As a minimum, shall consist of a motor driven 4-place horizontal head, metal housing with cover, power on/off switch, control panel and power cord.
The motor driven horizontal head (unloaded) shall have an adjustable speed range that includes 100 to 2400 RPM. The head shall be designed to accept the following trunnion ring with shield combinations which shall be commercially available but are not required to be supplied with the centrifuge.
1. 4 each – seven (7) place trunnion ring with 7 shields to accommodate 15 ml. round bottom tubes.
2. 4 each – two (2) place trunnion ring with 2 shields to accommodate 50 ml. round bottom tubes.
3. 4 each – one (1) place trunnion ring with shield to accommodate 100 ml. round cone-shaped tube.
4. each – one (1) place trunnion ring with shield to accommodate a 100 ml. pear-shaped tube.
